Additional Property Attributes

Located on 0.19 acres in Preston, property consists of a 3,174 square foot one story building with basement. Property was undeveloped until 1920 when a catholic church was built on the site. The church operated from 1920 through 1984. From 1985 to 2020 the property was occupied as a retail antique store and wood shop. In 2020 the owner passed away and the property has been underutilized and deteriorating in poor condition needing repairs since then. Potential buyers have been reluctant to acquire due to environmental concern and uncertainty given age of the structure. City was considering acquiring and had a Phase I and Asbestos Inspection completed on the site in June 2023. Phase I identified no RECs other than recommending ACM and LBP inspection depending on proposed use of the site. Asbestos Inspection identified asbestos containing material in the building requiring abatement prior to renovation or deconstruction. Property was sold October 2023 to a private party for abatement, renovation and redevelopment.
