Additional Property Attributes

The Brownfields Property was initially developed between 1938 and 1951. The southern portion of the Site was reportedly occupied by a trucking company and later an automotive salvage yard. Past activities at the property include vehicle repair, vehicle parts salvage and crushing of automobiles. Underground storage tanks may be present at the property and there is indication that portions of the property may have been filled with unknown material. The northern portion of the property was residential. The Town of Leland wishes to reuse this property in collaboration with the off-site improvements of a boat ramp. The on-site uses are proposed to include parking and possibly recreational uses which will support and complement the boat ramp, but the final development plans have not been finalized.
