Additional Property Attributes

This site was formerly used as an outdoor shooting range where the Fayetteville Police Department conducted target practice for approximately 60 years. Lead contamination from bullets is suspected. The adjoining Recycling and Trash Collection utility would like to acquire the property to expand their operations.

A Phase I ESA was completed in November 2023 and identified the following RECs: (1) likely presence of lead and other metal contamination in surface soils from past firing range operations; (2) potential metal contamination in subsurface soils from a former wastewater treatment facility settling pond on the property; and (2) possible migration of hazardous substances and leachate from a surrounding former landfill to the north and northwest.
