Additional Property Attributes

Currently located on the property is a low-income residential unit and decaying carwash that is 50 plus years old. The carwash is currently not in operation and is in very poor condition. The property is located in the "Heart of Cuba" area at a major intersection of the community (Highway 19 and Route 66). Revitalizing the area is a key component to the growth and prosperity of the community. Much heritage and tradition is held in this area of the community; however, due to neglect and transfer of business to other areas within the community over the past 50 years, the property has been rundown and partly abandoned. Anticipated future use is a community center, office space, retail, marketplace, parking lot, restaurants and city square. Exterior of the car wash and any interior paint of the rental house are suspected as lead-based due to the age of the structures. All types of peeling paint needs to be tested for lead content prior to renovation or demolition. Given the age of the buildings suspect building materials needs to be tested during a full pre-demolition asbestos inspection.
