The property is a vacant site currently owned by the Town of Kersey. The property was formerly owned by Union Pacific Railroad and is developed with a grain elevator building with metal grain bins, silos, a metal garage, and a metal storage building. A discontinued railroad line runs through the southern portion of the property. Previous assessments confirmed the presence of ACM within the site building in addition to a crystalline substance on surfaces within the site building. Sampling of the crystalline substance in the building and surface soil surrounding the discontinued rail line did not identify the presence of contaminants above actionable levels.
