Additional Property Attributes

The vacant property known as Kooper Longie is located at 8193 35th St. NE in Sheyenne, North Dakota. The trailer is vacant and the entirety of the unit's east side was inaccessible due to piles of garbage debris. The future plans is to demolish the trailer.

The trailer was surveyed for asbestos containing materials (ACM) to the extent practical and feasible given the condition of the residence. Building materials on the roof and caulking on the exterior of the east side of the unit was found to contain more than 1 percent asbestos.

A lead-based paint (LBP) survey was conducted on the exterior of the unit using a XRF spectrometer. No LBP was detected at a concentration equal to or greater than 1.0 milligram per square centimeter (mg/cm2).

In October 2023, Spirit Lake Nation used its BIL 128(a) Brownfields grant to conduct cleanup of the Kooper Longie property. Confirmation samples were taken on July 24, 2024, to ensure no contamination remains on the property. The cleanup contractor submitted a report on August 7, 2024, verifying that asbestos was not detected in soil samples. The property is ready for reuse.
