Additional Property Attributes

The site building is currently vacant and for sale but was most recently used as a restaurant. Historically the site was used by the Rand, Ball & King Co. for woodworking and storage and was associated with a larger railyard adjacent south to the site. The vicinity of the site has historically been a mixed use area with a residential neighborhood to the east of the site, the Topstone Mill building and a industrial storage building to the west of the site.

The site is expected to be contaminated with chlorinated solvents. A plume of CVOCs has already been identified beneath the Topstone Mill and Mulberry Street, as well as in soil vapor impacts upgradient of the site. The NHDES has been unable to identify the source area and the site is untested in the center of the study area. In addition, due to the age of the site building (assumed circa 1930), there is the potential for hazardous building materials to be present.
