Additional Property Attributes

This site was previously the emergency medical services (EMS) for the larger De Queen Medical Center, housing ambulance and air evacuation services. The site is currently abandoned and is held by the Arkansas Commissioner of State Lands Office due to unpaid taxes. Based on a consultation with DEQ, the Commissioner of State Lands Office will not auction any parcels associated with the former De Queen Medical Center until DEQ certifies that there are no environmental risks associated with the parcels.

The Phase I ESA found no RECs associated with the EMS parcel. DEQ is continuing to assess adjoining tax parcels associated with the larger De Queen Medical Center (the former Hospital and former Clinics). Once all assessments are completed and any environmental risks are identified, DEQ will advise the Commissioner of State Lands to allow the auctioning of all parcels.

DEQ has performed the Phase I ESA of the EMS parcel on behalf of Feed Local, Inc., a non-profit organization. Once the non-profit has purchased the site, they plan to redevelop it with affordable housing.
