Additional Property Attributes

Seeley Lake Elementary is a K-8 school, located in rural Seeley Lake, which has been in operation since 1957. The school's kitchen has become inefficient with old appliances, worn surfaces, and an outdated layout. The school needs to renovate the kitchen to improve efficiency in serving students with less kitchen staff. A QEP performed a Phase II Hazardous Building Materials Investigation and found four building materials above the regulatory threshold of 1% asbestos and are considered asbestos-containing building materials (ACBMs). No measurement of paint was above the EPA thresholds to be considered Lead-based Paint. No PCB-containing light ballasts or mercury-containing thermostats were identified. The QEP recommended recycling the eight fluorescent light tubes that were present. The QEP recommends hiring a licensed abatement contractor to abate the following building materials: drywall and joint compound, all sinks with undercoatings and vinyl floor tile (VFT) and mastic.
