Additional Property Attributes

The Site is 68.574 acres, located in a predominantly vacant industrial area, and currently vacant and overgrown with trees, scrub vegetation and phragmites australis. It is currently unoccupied, overgrown with vegetation, and covered with assorted waste items due to open dumping.

The Site was undeveloped dune and swale environment from at least 1938 until 1951. The Site received waste for on-site disposal in a water-filled excavation from at least 1957-1977. The waste included but was not limited to slag, fly-ash, cinders, demolition debris, sludge, drums, paint cans, roofing materials, and battery cases which were brought by truck and rail. An on-Site incinerator was used to burn paper and wood. From 1983-1987, aerial photography showed the far north portion of the Site was still disturbed, but the whole Site had vegetation growth between 1987-1992. From 1992-present, the Site appeared to be unutilized and vacant with several feet of waste stacked along the rail spur and on the northside of the property as a result of open dumping. Waste remains uncovered on-Site. The Site includes vast vegetation growth, some barren areas, and some low-lying saturated areas.
