Additional Property Attributes

The Site consists of .995 acre on one parcel situated diagonally in a southwest to northeast direction. The Site is currently utilized as a City Park with two shelter houses and a large retaining wall present from the former coal storage building. The majority of the Site is open grass areas with pedestrian sidewalks. The Site was developed in 1885 for industrial use and was surrounded by residences. The Site was utilized by various industries (Lafayette Hominy Mills, Imperial Corn Product, and Edward Korty Coal and Building Materials) from at least 1885 through the early 1980s. Coal storage and potential oil storage have historically occurred on the Site.
