Additional Property Attributes

The building is a charter school that is currently open and operating. The building requires structural repairs, but the presence of LBP and ACM is unknown. Prior to beginning any repairs or renovations, an assessment is needed to determine the existence of hazardous materials that would need to be addressed. Asbestos was not identified at a concentration greater than 1% in samples collected from the subject building. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) defines ACM as any material containing asbestos at a concentration above 1%. Asbestos was assumed to be present on spray-on fire proofing, located on the third floor in 301 Mechanical, and on the ceiling along the east section of the south wall. However, these components were not sampled. Additionally, lead based paint (LBP) was identified in several locations in the basement, as well as on each of the floors, mostly on metal piping, and on the concrete exterior of the building.
