Additional Property Attributes

The subject property is comprised of two parcels #6-W2P-22 1.65-acres and #6-W2P-27 5.71-acres. Parcel #6-W2P-22 is a vacant lot classified by Brooke County Assessor as General Commercial Vacant Land. Prior to 1953, a residential structure and farm buildings occupied the properties. Sometime between June 1953 and March 1955 the Bates family developed the larger 5.71-acre lot. property as a block and brick yard. In November 1990, Burrell Industries, Inc purchased properties. Burrell, Inc cleared the land on the larger lot, removed all structures, and constructed/operated a concrete manufacturing facility on the site sometime between June 1991 and March 1992. Burrell ceased operations and vacated the property sometime before March 2004. Burrell, Inc removed the concrete manufacturing facility and the material storage areas leaving a 4,675-sf one-story five-bay garage block structure located on the lot's southwest corner and a larger 7,950-sf concrete block warehouse/office building situated to the east of the garage. Freedom LLC purchased the properties March 2020. Currently, Top Auto Detailing occupies the five-bay garage. The larger structure is unoccupied. Weirton's Comprehensive Plan identifies the subject property as vacant land zoned for industrial and commercial use. The plan encourages the reuse and development of vacant and underutilized parcels.
