Additional Property Attributes

The nonprofit Olympia Foundation approached the Ohio EPA to seek site assessments for the 4.62-acre property. The property comprises a vacant 43,000-square-foot building that was once used as a car dealership under Ford and then operated as a workshop for clients of the Cuyahoga County Developmental Disabilities Board. The Olympia Foundation seeks to redevelop the space into a light industrial space, business center, and daycare center and eventually develop apartments adjacent to the building. In partnership with the city of East Cleveland, Nonprofit Euclid Circle, Inc., and Cuyahoga County are working together to create jobs, provide services and housing, and revitalize the Euclid corridor. Based on the results of analytical testing found during the March 2024 Limited Phase II Property Assessment, soil has been impacted by low levels of PAHs at concentrations exceeding BUSTR standards cited for comparison for benzo(a)pyrene. The benzo(a)pyrene concentration does not exceed applicable VAP standards. Based on the analytical testing results, no analytes exceeded the applicable standards for groundwater. No further assessment is warranted at this time. No anomalies suggesting orphan USTs or related apparatus were detected during the GPR survey; however, analytical results indicate that a release may have occurred. If an orphan UST system is identified it should be properly removed.
