Additional Property Attributes

The 221-acre Subject Property fully encompasses a former military outpost and training facility established
by the U.S. Navy in 1944 to drill field problems and practice combat tactics, scouting, patrolling, and small
arms handling. The training facility, named Camp Olsen, was comprised of eleven (11) Quonset Hut
buildings including a refrigerator building, Galley, Utility Hut, Head (shower/restroom), Gas House, and six
16' by 36' Barracks. Camp Olsen also featured a drilled water supply well, cesspool, and at least one
diesel generator for electrical power. A small pre-existing hunting cabin, identified as the Muscatel Inn,
was also incorporated into the facility and a 300-yard long rifle range was established to the west of the
Camp and made accessible by an unimproved "jeep road". Camp Olsen was decommissioned in 1946.

A Phase II ESA was completed to evaluate lead associated with the former rifle range. No concentrations were detected above currently MEDEP Remedial Action Guidelines and MEDEP issued a No Further Action Assurance Letter on January 3, 2025.
