Additional Property Attributes

Austin Resource Recovery, a department of the City of Austin, is considering purchasing this property. ARR received an EPA Solid Waste Infrastructure Grant (SWIFR) of $4,000,000 to construct and maintain a new reuse warehouse. The City is considering purchasing this property for the new furniture reuse warehouse, where Austinites can drop off things like furniture and building supplies to get recirculated back into the community. The warehouse will be an onsite space for redistributing used furniture and building materials and hosting programming. It will accept all furniture and help distribute usable furniture to people coming out of homelessness. The warehouse is expected to support 3 jobs and grow a workforce development program to help persons experiencing homelessness learn skills to transition back into the workforce.
The Phase I ESA was completed and identified RECs needing investigation. The Phase II ESA was undertaken using City funds, however the City decided not to continue with the purchase.
