Additional Property Attributes

Parcel A consisted of undeveloped land from at least 1924 until prior to 1937, when it was improved with a commercial building on the western portion. The building, which was identified as auto service on the 1941 through 1957 Sanborn maps, was razed sometime between 1957 and 1961 and the parcel was used as a parking lot. In 1966, a commercial building was constructed on the northern two-thirds of the parcel that spanned from the western to eastern parcel boundaries. The southern part of Parcel A consisted of a parking lot. The building, which was identified as a furniture storage warehouse on Sanborn maps, was razed sometime between 1997 and 1999; however, the foundation was note removed. Currently, Parcel A consists of undeveloped land with a building foundation.

Although a previous subsurface investigation was conducted on Parcel A, only two soil borings were advanced on the parcel and the soil samples were not submitted for all compounds of potential concern. Therefore, the former use of Parcel A for automobile servicing represents an REC. In addition, fill material was encountered in the soil borings; however, the soil samples submitted for laboratory analysis were not collected from the fill material and represents an REC. In addition, fill material may represent a geotechnical concern during future redevelopment.

Parcel B consisted of undeveloped land from at least 1924 until prior to 1937, when it was improved with three storefronts. The storefronts were razed between 1957 and 1961 and the parcel has been used for parking since that time. The southern portion of Parcel B contains brick pavers, decorative fence, and seating area. Research did not reveal information regarding the construction of the storefronts formerly present on Parcel B; however, it is likely they were equipped with basements. The origin of the material used to backfill the basements upon demolition is unknown. Therefore, the potential fill material on Parcel B represents an REC. In addition, fill material may represent a geotechnical concern during future redevelopment.
