DEQ is assisting the site owner, the Waarvik Family Revocable Living Trust, with evaluation of
potential petroleum contamination at a property located near Glasgow, Montana (see Section 2.1
below). DEQ's requested scope of services for AWS's Phase II ESA originally included
preparation of a project-specific SAP relating to closure of 2 temporarily out-of-service USTs and
associated piping; submission of an UST closure permit application to DEQ's UST Program;
implementation of the SAP, including permit requirements for tank/piping removal and disposal,
post closure site assessment, and submission of closure documents to DEQ's UST program; and,
preparation of this report.
No visible or olfactory evidence of petroleum contamination was observed in UST closure
samples, including a water grab sample collected adjacent to the tanks and soil samples collected
from beneath dispensers, supply and vent piping, and tanks.
UST closure
sample analytical data did not indicate exceedance of the forthcoming (now-current) 2024 RBSLs.
DEQ additionally noted he anticipated submitting the release for closure review following
receipt of the 30-Day release report.
