PM Environmental (PM), a Pinchin Company, has completed a Pre-Renovation Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) and Lead-Containing Paint Survey of the Former Winans Performing Arts Academy located at 9740 McKinney Street, Detroit, Michigan.

The results of PM's survey identified the following ACM:

*Although the floor tile layer and yellow mastic layer of the 12" x 12" Green Floor Tile and Yellow over Black Mastic (HA76), were found to not contain asbestos, PM determined that the floor tile and mastic layers of this material are inseparable. Therefore, the entire material must be treated as ACM.

**This is an estimated quantity of the material due to the limited access in Crawl Space Areas and Auditorium Attic.

These materials will need to be removed by a licensed abatement contractor if impacted by renovation activities. If the materials are in damaged or significantly damaged condition, they will either need to be removed or repaired by a licensed abatement contractor.

The following materials were identified by PM but were not sampled in order to avoid excessive damage. These materials are therefore considered assumed ACM:

* Tagged Metal Fire Door (Assumed ACM) (HA45) - 1 Each
* Tagged Fire Frame (Assumed ACM) (HA46) - 45 Each
* Tagged Red Metal Fire Door (Assumed ACM) (HA48) - 2 Each
* Tagged Metal Fire Door with Seam (Assumed ACM) (HA50) - 4 Each
* Tagged Wood Fire Door (Assumed ACM) (HA53) - 57 Each
* Tagged Metal Fire Door (Assumed ACM) (HA60) - 1 Each
* Tagged Metal Fire Door with Panels (Assumed ACM) (HA83) - 16 Each
* Tagged Metal Safe Fire Door (Assumed ACM) (HA98) - 1 Each

If feasible, PM recommends sampling these materials before renovation activities to determine asbestos content. Otherwise, these materials will need to be removed by a licensed abatement contractor if impacted by renovation activities.
