Additional Property Attributes

The First Baptist Church of Pascagoula includes a vacant parking lot situated to the north of the primary church structure. The property is zoned for commercial use; however, surrounding parcels feature a mix of commercial and residential zoning. The Church is in negotiations with a potential buyer for the Site which may lead to development
of the property in the future.

On August 8, 2024, AllenES and GPRS representatives conducted a site visit. During this reconnaissance, three suspected USTs were identified in the southwest portion of the site, along with suspected transfer lines connected to former fueling islands. Additionally, three more suspected USTs were identified in the northeast portion of the site. The suspected UST locations were corroborated by fill ports covers and potential vent piping positioned within these systems. The southwest UST system was identified having former fill port covers immediately over the GPRS located USTs while the northeast UST system was found with potential vent piping. The dimensions and condition of the identified tanks remain undetermined. Historically, the southwest portion of the property functioned as a fueling station prior to 1988. A previous field investigation detected petroleum hydrocarbons in a single monitoring well installed on the site. The USTs on the northeast portion of the property were previously unknown but likely are associated with another former fueling station located on the property.

In the planned Phase II, a total of eleven (11) soil boring samples are looking to be collected during the initial mobilization, ten (10) tank pit excavation samples, four (4) composite spoil pile samples are looking to be collected during the second mobilization. Eight (8) of the eleven (11) soil borings will be converted into temporary monitoring wells.
