Additional Property Attributes

The subject property consists of a single parcel that is situated on the southwest corner of Market Street and Eel River Ave. The facility onsite was originally constructed as a Pepsi-Cola plant and operated from 1937-1945. The S.U.S Die Casting company was founded by the Siena Family in 1946 and operated until 1992. The company created aluminum diecasts for various industries such as, mountain bikes, garage doors, and automotive water hoses. The building on the subject property consists of 28,000 square feet and is currently vacant. The property is currently owned by Werst Inc. Zapien Auto Sales and residential properties adjoin to the north. Residential properties and BoonDockers Banquet Hall adjoin to the east. To the south is a vacant lot with railroad tracks beyond, and adjoining west is the Eel River. Historic Sanborn maps and city directories show that the subject property operated as a laundry mat and gas station in the 1930's. Environmentally significant information pertaining to the subject property found during the course of this investigation includes:
* The historic use of the subject property as a die casting facility from 1946 - 1992
* The three (3) historic pits on the subject property containing; oil and water, a silicon wax base, and a mixture of hydraulic and industrial fuel oils
