Additional Property Attributes

The Property was historically used primarily for residential dwelling but was transformed to a commercial business between 1948 and 1960. The site has most recently been home to Tidy Cleaners, a small community drycleaner which has operated since the early 1970s.

Contamination on the Property is confirmed and primarily associated with a release of chlorinated volatile organic compounds (CVOCs) from historic dry cleaning operations. Site investigation activities are being guided by WDNR and tracked via the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) Bureau of Remediation and Redevelopment Tracking System (BRRTS) under case #02-05-552220. At present CVOC compounds remain in soil and groundwater on and offsite. The WDNR is requiring offsite soil and groundwater sample collection to define the extent of the contaminant plume. The investigations will take place within three road rights-of way owned by the City of Green Bay as well as two additional privately owned parcels for which the City has or will obtain permission to access for the purpose of completing the environmental assessment work.
