Additional Property Attributes

Stone, Kentucky is an old coal mining town where Henry Ford had his largest coal mining operation. The Red Robin Theater was originally constructed in 1922 as a movie theater. The basement of the theater served as a snack bar/barbershop/drugstore. in the 1940s the basement was converted into a library. In the 1970s, the building was converted into an office and training facility for the Eastern Coal Company. In the 1980s, the property was vacated. In 2001, Stone Heritage, Inc. obtained the property which included two buildings. One they converted to the Stone Heritage Museum and the other is the vacant theater. Based on the age of the building and subsequent renovations, the presence of asbestos containing materials is likely.
