Property Highlights

This site is part of the 160 acre whittier peninsula. Redevelopment includes approx 80 acres as an urban park, 55 acres as residential/commercial and 25 acres for required infrastructure. On September 23, 2005 Linda Garczynski attended a kick-off event at the Whittier Peninsula. This event was held to publicly announce the beginning of the project and for local, state and federal agencies to come together in support of this project. Demolition of the Maier Warehouse was completed in December 2005 as a necessary action to remediate soils under the building. Cleanup work and NFA were issued August 2008. PPF attached to QR 5, 10/1/05-12/31/05

Former Use: The property is divided into 3 former usersMaier Warehouse, Conard-Land property and the former Koch Facility property. All three properties were used for a number of commercial and industrial uses including: railroad operations including maintenance and repair electroplating coal storage stone cutting operation and an asphalt emulsion plant.
