Property Highlights

LVEDC contractor completed a partial Phase II ESA. The balance of the assessment work will be completed in 2008 using a 2007 Brownfields Assessment Grant. A new SAP will be ready in the third quarter. PPF - 13th Streek Silk Mill, 5/20/08 Additional investigation regarding possible petroleum contamination and an UST will be required for the area behind buiding #13. Cleanup Plan was completed 03/11/2009 for the 55-gallon drums, ACM, large old boiler that had ACM, contaminated water in the tunnels, and other residual/ universal waste on the site. Additional testing was required on the stie for the water in the tunnel. There were SVOC's found in the sediment. This material was removed and disposed of property. The cleanup work outlined in the 3/11/09 plan was completed in early 2010. Additional investigation and possible cleanup will continue outside of this grant's funding.

Former Use: Underutilized silk mill and associated buildings currently used for warehousing, carpet sales, and other industrial uses. More recently, one portion was a plastic recycling warehouse, one portion was used to store pigments, and one portion was a sewing room.
