Additional Property Attributes

Neighboring properties include the railyard and industrial facilities. Residences are present within 0.125 miles of the subject property. Currently, three buildings and a Union Pacific right-of-way occupy the subject property. The three structures on the property are each owned by different property owners. (PPF - 8/24/06)

Former Use: The subject property does not currently contain any structures associated with the former Grand Island Gas Company. in 1889, the property consisted of a 35,000 cubic ft. gasometer, 2-8,0000 gallon refined oil tanks, a pipe fitting building and shed, a coal shed, and a windmill. In 1893, the only structures remaining onsite were the gasometer and the pipe fitting building; however, the gasometer was identified as no longer in use and the pipe fitting building was identified as being vacated. The Grand Island Gas Company was also listed as not in operation.
