Property Highlights

The property is a former mine land which the City of Norway would like to sell for development. In order to determine the risk associated with the property, Coleman Engineering Company was directed to conduct a mine record review.(PPF - Former West Vulcan Mine Property - city owned, 12-4-06)

Former Use: The property is in the southeast quarter of the northwest quarter of Section 9, Township 39 North Range 29. The property used to be the Penn Mines, with the West Vulcan Iron Mines underlying the property. The City of Norway acquired the properties in late the 1980's or early 1990's from Keweenaw Mining Company.
