Additional Property Attributes

The Town of Springfield passed a bond to purchase the property and redevelop the building into a police station. The property was entered into the Redevelopment of Contaminated Properties Program (RCPP). (PPF attached to QR 9 (final), 7/1/06-9/30/06)

Former Use: The property is 1.21 acres with one structure. The property was originally residential, was part of the Bradford Oil Company property in 1940, then housed a car dealership from approximately 1948 to 1970. Historical maps show gasoline pumps and hydraulic lifts as part of the car dealership. The building served as a training center for the J&L #1 facility (across the street) from 1970 to 1984, and as a candy wreath manufacturer in the 1990s.
