Property Highlights

Former Use: Property has historically and is currently used as a porcelain manufacturing facility. The Edward Knowles China Company initially developed the Subject Site around 1913. The Knowles Company manufactured pottery ware and china through 1963. A local car dealer Mike Turk purchased the property in 1963 and used the site to store automobiles between 1963 through 1969. The Ohio Brass Company acquired the roperty in 1969, made renovations, and began manufacturing ceramic insulators for electrical power lines. In 1988, Ohio Brass sold the property to Newell Porcelain Company. Newell Porcelain and its successor Newell Porcelain Holding continued manufacturing ceramic insulators through January 2006. In January 2006, the Newell-PSN acquired facility assets and continued production until 2008. In its current state, the building is unoccupied. Historical operations at the facility have included on-site storage and use of fuel oil as well as other hazardous products typically used in china/ceramic manufacturing.
