The subject parcel, located one block form the Iron Mountain High School, is perceived to be potentially contaminated by petroleum products, based on a history of 60 years as an office, retail store and repair shop. Also, the other three corners of the intersection each historically contained a service station, two of whom are known to have had releases.

Former Use: The subject parcel is located at 600 South Carpenter Avenue, Iron Mountain, Michigan. The property consists of lots 1, 2 and 3 of Block 8 of Kimberlys First Addition. The property has been the office and repair shop for the Iron Mountain Gas Company for the last 60+ years. Operations reportedly included sales and service of gas company products and equipment.
