Additional Property Attributes

"Through the leveraging of state and federal Brownfield incentives the former City of Tampas 12th Street Maintenance facility has been transformed into 422 market rate residential units and mixed use commercial development. The site was the Citys main transportation, roadway and equipment maintenance facility for many years. The site also contained a former waste water treatment plant that was abandoned and hidden below several onsite buildings. Learn how working together to build synergy within the public and private communities a once abandoned underutilized property became a key commercial development within the heart of the Channelside District in Tampa. See how participation and cooperation by the City, FDEP and the private developer achieved success using various incentives and funding to remove a stigmatized property in downtown Tampa."

Former Use: The property has primarily been owned by the City of Tampa and has been designated a Brownfield Area. The City of Tampa plans to redevelop the historically industrial area to an urbanized one to enhance utilization of the property. It has since been redeveloped into brand new apartments by a private firm.
