Additional Property Attributes

This property is a former automobile service station, which had its underground storage tanks pulled several years ago, although no testing was conducted at that time. The property is owned by the CIty/Redevelopment Agency and is a high priority property for redevelopment. The Redevelopment Agency is interested in marketing the property to attract potential developers, but the uncertain environmental condition is an obstacle to redevelopment. The City plans to utilize its EPA Assessment Grant to conduct a Phase II ESA for the property once a SAP has been prepared and approved by EPA. (PPF - 422-424 C Street, 1/31/07) The information provided in the Phase I and II have cleared any concerns regarding contaminants at the site so that the City may move forward with development plans for the property. (PPF, 1/28/2008)

Former Use: The property is a former automobile service station dating from the 1960s that included petroleum underground storage tanks. The tanks were removed in 1987, however no testing was conducted at that time. There are a number of former owners that operated the property as a service station, but it was acquired by the City in 1994 for road right-of-way.
