Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The subject property consisted of undeveloped, densely wooded land from at least 1938 until before 1952 when a small gasoline filling station and feed store was constructed on the western portion of the property. This gasoline filling station operated from at least 1952 until 1975 or 1976 when operations were abandoned and the store was vacated. A grocery store was constructed immediately to the east of the gasoline filling station between 1952 and 1958. This grocery store operated until the early 1980s, when operations were abandoned and the property was vacated. In 1987, Mr. Rick Lange purchased the subject property for use as an automobile salvage yard and light repair and maintenance business. Mr. Lange utilized the former grocery store building as an auto parts store from at least 1987 until 1994, when it was remodeled into a dance hall. The former gasoline filling station was razed in the mid 1990s. The former USTs associated with this gasoline filling station were removed prior to Mr. Lange purchasing the subject property in 1987. Mr. Lange constructed a pole building on the eastern portion of the subject property in 1987. This building was utilized primarily for light maintenance and tear down of salvaged vehicles, prior to them being crushed. In the mid 1990s a private campground was constructed on the northwestern portion of the subject property. This campground has been utilized by dog sled race teams during the winter months during that time. The dance hall building was closed in 2001, and is now utilized as a meeting hall for dog sled race teams during the winter months.
