Addl Cleanup/Treatment info: PFE testing was conducted to facilitate the conceptual design of a potential VMS for the central and west buildings. A VMS is not recommended for the east building based on the August 2021 sub-slab soil gas results, in which no Non-Residential VIAP SLs were identified. Conceptual costs for the VMS are $200,000 to $240,000 for the installation, startup, and first year of operation.

Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The Property was first developed as a gray iron foundry. This operation existed from the early part of the 20th century until the late 1950s/early 1960s when the property was destroyed by a fire. Melling Tool Co. purchased the property a few years later and began manufacturing operations on the property. Those operations have continued on the property until recently (~2004). Assessment has found VOCs and petroleum contaminants in soil, groundwater and soil gas beneath the building slab.
