Additional Property Attributes

The City has selected this property and the surrounding properties as the most suitable location for the site of two new middle schools that the city plans to construct to replace its outdated and overpopulated existing middle school.

Former Use: The first documented development at this property was the G. Daignault Planing Mill and Lumber Yard constructed at the property between 1898 and 1903. This facility operated at the property at least through 1911. By 1939, the property was undeveloped, and no buildings were present. The City of Woonsocket acquired the parcel from the estate of Eugene J. Daignault through "Taking of Fee" on November 13, 1963 for flood control purposes. The parcel remained undeveloped since that time.
