Additional Property Attributes

The City of Lexington, NC received a Letter of Eligibility dated December 15, 2006 to enter the site into the NC Brownfields ProgramPPF - Lexington Home Brands Plant 1, 6/11/07. The City of Lexington NC purchased the site on May 15, 2007 and combined all eight parcels into a single parcel 6725-02-75-9974. NC removed all soil restrictions on the site and expanded groundwater restriction to the entire site in June 2009. The City of Lexington is forming a Redevelopment Commission and intends to market the site for mixed-use redevelopment.

Former Use: Property was operated as the Dixie Furniture Company or successor companies since 1899 through 2003. Operations included wood drying through furniture finishing & shipping.
