Additional Property Attributes

Abandoned former school posed an imminent threat to nearby residents and trespassers from potential for asbestos exposure and physical hazards. After closing as a school, numerous private owners failed to maintain the building. The City agreed to take ownership once Illinois EPA proposed to remove the building. A threat is now removed and the City has benefited from the work in creating a park for the residents. We saved $87,725.51 due to utilizing a Supplemental Environmental Project (SEP) with Allied for 5,000 tons of free disposal.
