Additional Property Attributes

A Phase I ESA was perfomed for the Property owner (STM) in 2006. A SAP/HASP were prepared in 2007 to guide subsurface investigation activities. Phase II activities commenced in August 2007. The Phase II PA report is being prepared with an anticpated completion date of September 2008. A remedial action plan is also being prepared for completion in September 2008. The property is located with the City's targeted redevelopment district near downtown. A potential mixed commercial/residential re-use is being considered and a clean-up fund application through either the Clean Ohio Assistance Fund or Clean Ohio Revitilization Fund will be prepared for remediation costs. Potential green-space re-use for portions of the property are also being considered. A potential redeveloper has been identified.

Former Use: The earliest known use of the property was the Sutphin Wrenn Union Paper Mill (ca. 1850). operations at the mill ceased in the 1970s and STM Partnership, the current owner of the property, took ownership in 1979. From 1979 to the present the property has primarily been used for commercial purposes, including warehousing, storage space and light manufacturing.
