Additional Property Attributes

This property is affectionately referred to by local residents as Hobo Junction because of the homeless population that call this area home. Residents of the East End are looking forward to seeing this property redeveloped into a community park. (PPF - East End Park, Hobo Junction, EE217/EE216, 7/19/07) Assessment activities are now complete. The City is completing adjacent land acquisition for the planned park and discussing construction/clean-up alternatives.

Former Use: Primarily greenspace, roofing company (material storage building), residential lots.The properties to be addressed consist or former residential structures and a vacant unused area, vacant for numerous years. The site sits adjacent to existing railroad tracks. The area has a long history of heavy industrial activity, and is currently vacant.
