Additional Property Attributes

This property was studied as part of an area-wide Phase I for the West End of West Capitol Avenue, an area of historical industrial use that is targeted for redevelopment. The City is completing Phase Is in this area to provide information to prospective developers in the area, along with the existing property owner. (PPF - 4101 West Capitol Avenue, 10/22/07)

Former Use: The property was developed in the late 1940s to early 1950s and has been in use for industrial purposes since at least the mid-1960s. Underground storage tanks were removed from the property in 1989. Also, records indicate that hazardous materials have been and still are being stored on the property such as heavy equipment, waste oil containers, scrap piles, and vehicle batteries. Areas of stained surface soil were observed in the Phase I ESA. The property is currently owned by Art and Diane Hayashida, although they were unable to be contacted in the completion of the Phase I. Also, no past owners of the property have been identified.
