Site is used for residential/institutional housing sponsored by Neighborhood Services Organization, Inc. Proposed expansion was the impetus for environmental review. Former gas station and dry cleaners were located north & upgradient of site. The Phase II found no significant levels of contamination & no further env. action is anticipated. Palo Duro II was a new construction project, Section 811 HUD project, funded 100 by HUD 1,478,800.00. The occupancy certificate was received in September, 2010. Renting began in November of 2010, with complete occupancy expected in March, 2011- 13 units.

Former Use: The subject property is currently a parking lot serving the Palo Duro Housing complex, and is the site of a Palo Duro 2 complex. The property housed residential structures beginning in 1900. The site was split into five lots in 1905 and sold individually by Kate Dunn. Previous owners include Virgil Jobe, who acquired and consolidated these properties between 1943 and 1971. The site was transferred to John Jobe in 1983 and sold to the current owner in 1994. Historical uses of the site include residences, a medical clinic, grocery store, and bakery. All former structures on the subject property were demolished between 1970 and 1995.
