Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The property consists of an approximate 0.4-acre parcel, formerly used as a railroad line, and located north of East Hollis Street between Main Street and Quincy Street. The property has been utilized approximately since the mid-1800s as a portion of the Boston and Maine railroad system (now Pan Am Railways) until the railroad line was abandoned in the early 1990s. The property is currently vacant and consists of an out-of-use railway overgrown with trees and vegetation. The property was purchased from Pan Am Railways by the City of Nashua in December 2007. The City anticipates using this parcel to extend the existing 1.3-mile Nashua Heritage Rail Trail, a pedestrian/bike way that runs along an abandoned rail line from US Route 3 to Main Street.
