Additional Property Attributes

Phase II ESA sampling and supplemental sampling completed in support of "due care" obligations on behalf of Suttons Bay Township have identified petroleum based VOCs/PAHs and the metals arsenic and lead in excess of Residential cleanup criteria. Suttons Bay Township will undertake response activities relative to the identified contaminant conditions to ensure that no unacceptable health exposures occur in association with redevelopment of the site as an active/passive recreation park.

Former Use: Former orchard and farm with residences along Herman Road and Center highway. Abandoned/demolished gasoline/service station on the corner of Herman Road and Center Highway. The subject property consists of one parcel of land and portions of a second legal parcel. The parcels are owned by the Ralph Herman family. The majority of the property consists of former orchards with undeveloped wooded lowlands and wetlands. The northeast corner of the property was historically utilized as a gasoline retail/automotive service facility.
