Property Highlights

The building has been demolished and the site is now being prepared for new construction. The Nye County Board of County Commissioners recently approved funding for the contraction of a portion of the new building that now serves as the Town of Gabbs Community Center. In 2009, the concrete pad for the new building was completed and the new building was erected in 2010. The interior of the building was finally completed in 2013.

Former Use: The building was constructed in the 1940's at the Tonopah Army Air Force Base and served as a theater and dance hall for the base. When the base was dismantled, the building was moved to Gabbs and reconstructed in the early 1950's for use as a Recreation Hall. In 2002, a fire destroyed much of the building.
