Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: This site is located at the top of Moses Mountain, approximately 15 miles north of Nespelem, WA and 6 miles east of State Highway 20 in Township 33 North, Range 30 East of Willamette Meridan. Moses Mountain served as a lookout for Mt. Tolman Fire Management Center before construction of the communications facilities that currently occupy the site. The first communications facility was established in 1997 by Americell Communications. The facility consists of several communcations towers, a shipping container housing two diesel generators and two fuel storage tankers and a grey shipping container housing 33 sealed lead-acid batteries and miscellaneous electonic radio equipment. Americell Communications abandoned the facility in 2002 after the lease had expired. The second communication facility was established in June 2005 and this facility was establised by the CTCR Tribal Police Department and handles emergency two-way radio communications for the police department, the CTCR Forestry Service, the Mt. Tolman Fire Management Center, the Washington State Deparment of Transportation, and the Pascal Sherman Indian School. The Bureau of Indian Affairs administered the land from 2002 until 2007, when rights were transferred to the CTCR Information Technology Department via a property use agreement.
