Additional Property Attributes

USTs removed from the site in 1994, and a Classification Exception Area was approved for impacted groundwater on March 4, 1997. The current plan is to sample wells to investigate potential natural attenuation of former groundwater contaminants.

Former Use: The site was a gasoline service station from approximately the 1940s through the 1970s/80s and has been vacant since 1985. The City of Trenton foreclosed on the property on October 31, 1985. Neither the City of Trenton current owner or the prior owner Alvin Bowen [1981-85] are known to have dispensed or disposed of petroleum. The City of Trenton has maintained ground surface crushed stone and fencing, thus limiting access, exposure, disturbance, and the potential for additional contamination.
