Additional Property Attributes

Assessment grant used to perform due dilligence AAI/Phase I ESA, a Phase II ESA and provide other background data that prospective bidders could use when the property was offered for tax sale in May 2009. The City developed a new zoning district for the area in conjunction with a brownfield corridor plan that was adopted for the area in September 2008. City staff is in discussion with the responsive bidder to potentially enroll the site in the state VRP, complete assesment activites and develop a cleanup plan using this EPA assessment grant. Cleanup work would likely use the City's RLF Grant. City staff will work with the bidder to assure that site reuse is consistent with the adopted corridor plan.

Former Use: The property was operated as several industrial operations from oil and coal ditributing in the early to mid 1900s to paint and coatings manufacturing from the 1960s until the early 1990s. The most recent operation, Evans Paint, d bankruptcy and abandoned the facility. Property housed a small industrial building with outdoor storage. There was some concern with the possibility of inappropriate fill debris and solid waste placed on-site during fill by a previous owner. PPF - 11/26/08.
