Additional Property Attributes

No evidence observed during the Phase I ESA for potential on-site sources of contamination. The site is adjoined by two former gasoline service stations.

Former Use: The subject site is comprised of two adjoining land parcels; each currently improved with one structure. The smaller parcel contains a small office building, approximately 900 sq ft in area, that was built in 1906. The larger parcel contains a warehouse building that is the last of five 5,000-sq ft cotton warehouses that remains on the site. The two buildings are currently used by the property owner, Mr. Hugh Rock, to store antiques. Mr. Rock indicated that another warehouse recently resided on the site until it collapsed approximately six to 10 months ago and was subsequently demolished and removed. This former structures foundation and footprint still exist. The undeveloped portion of the property is mostly covered by high grass and brush. Mr. Rock has owned the property for approximately eight years. To his knowledge, before taking over the property, the warehouse only stored cotton and the second building was an office. Mr. Rock indicated that at one time, the cotton warehouse facility was comprised of five buildings and an office was built in 1906. Only one warehouse building still stands. Mr. Rock also confirmed the off-site presence of two adjacent historical automotive service stations and nearby a former dry-cleaning facility; all located within 250 feet of the subject property.
