Additional Property Attributes

This property is being acquired by the Citys Redevelopment Agency to complete property assembly for a 70-unit high-density mixed-use affordable housing development in the Bridge District (Triangle Specific Plan area). The Bridge District is planned for the total build-out of over 4,000 housing units and up to 12 million square feet of residential, office, retail, hotel, entertainment, and park space.

Former Use: This property was originally developed as a roadway within the City's former industrial area known as the Triangle (now being redeveloped into a high-density, urban infill, mixed-use development area). The roadway remained on the site until the Pioneer Bridge over the Sacramento River (U.S. Highway 50) was constructed in the mid-1960s. The roadway was abandoned in the late 1960s during the re-alignment of South River Road. Since that time the site has remained vacant, although it was under the ownership of the railroad since as early as 1919.
