Former Use: The site is located at 1000 Jeep Parkway also associated with other addresses bounded by Central Avenue to the south, Conrail tracks to the east, the Ottawa River and Interstate 75 to the north and west in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio. The Ottawa River crosses the southwest quadrant of the site, separating the main plant from the west employee parking lot. Jeep Parkway crosses the northern portion of the site, separating the plant from the north employee parking lot and truck receiving lot. The site is approximately 109 acres in area and consists of sixteen parcels. The primary function of the facility was manufacturing and assembly of light and full size trucks and multi-purpose off-road passenger vehicles. Previous operations included: casting, stamping pressing, machining welding metal cleaning coating painting assembly quality control testing foundry forging and pickling. The former Jeep Assembly Plant in 1997 consisted of 62 buildings and 4.5 million square feet which included a parts warehouse and administration building Buildings 89, 107, 110 and the power house Building 47. THe CIty of Toledo used their ARRA grant assessment funding to perform hazardous substance and petroleum Phase 2 work using their consultant TTL associates ARRA TBA funding awarded to Toledo was used to pay for the chemical analysis of samples collected as part of the Phase 2 work thru a subcontract with TTL.
